  • Co-Founder of Microsoft. The other founder is named Paul Allen.
  • Gates was the richest man in the world for many years. Now, the richest man in the world is the CEO of Amazon: Jeff Bezos.
  • He is 64 years old
  • He and his wife formed the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. Gates has personally donated over $28 billion to charity
  • The name Microsoft was originally hyphenated Micro-soft, a combination of microcomputer and software.

  • Navy admiral during WWII. The Navy asked her to program a computer that would help them in the war
  • The name of the computer was the Mark I, and it was 51 feet wide!
  • She had a backward clock in her office to remind her that things didn’t always have to work just one way
  • Credited with coining the term “computer bug” after a moth was caught in the computer

Tech Titan: Albert Einstein

  • He was born in Germany in 1879.
  • He was Jewish so he moved to the US during WWII to escape Hitler and the war.
  • He didn’t speak until he was 4 years old!
  • He was very creative and liked to think outside of the box.
  • He shocked the world with his Theory of Relativity. Four years later, an experiment proved his theory to be true! The theory is written as: e=mc^2
  • 1905 is known as the “Year of Miracles” because he published four notable papers in the same year.
  • He died when he was 76 years old.
  • After he died, his brain was stolen by Thomas Harvey. He wanted to study Einstein’s brain since he was so intelligent. He cut the brain into 240 pieces in order to study it. Part of the brain was slightly wider than an average brain. Overall, Harvey did not find anything out of the ordinary about Einstein’s brain.

  • was the first female engineer at Google and their 20th employee
  • Mayer designed the search interface of Google’s home page
  • In 2012, Mayer became the CEO and President of Yahoo
  • Yahoo was sold to Verizon in 2017, and Mayer resigned
  • In 2018, she co-founded Lumi Labs

  • Lived from 1912 until 1954
  • Cracked the German Enigma Code during World War II
  • Created the first “stored program” computer: the Turing Machine, which has influenced almost every computer, tablet, and smart phone
  • Was very interested in artificial intelligence
  • He wrote a chess program (Turochamp) before the first computer was even invented

We will learn how to make graphic organizers using Microsoft Publisher. Using a shape family of their choice, each student will illustrate all nine Fruits of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23:

  1. Love
  2. Joy
  3. Peace
  4. Patience
  5. Kindness
  6. Goodness
  7. Faithfulness
  8. Gentleness
  9. Self-control

First Level: one shape that states “Fruits of the Spirit” Galatians 5:22-23

Second Level: nine separate shapes with one Fruit of the Spirit inside

Third Level: a text box next to each Fruit with an example of how to demonstrate that particular quality

  • born on November 9th, 1914 in Austria
  • Died in 2000
  • Moved to the US to live in Hollywood because she became a famous movie star
  • In addition to being a talented actress, Hedy was extremely intelligent
  • During World War II, she wanted to assist in the war effort by solving the problem of enemies blocking signals from radio-controlled missiles
  • Her system changed radio frequencies simultaneously to prevent enemies from being able to detect the messages
  • She patented an idea that led to secure military communications and mobile phone technology
